ive drunk all over the world.
forget pommie beer - its served warm. i hear they have littl heaters in teh lines to warm it up or perhaps i just invented that. i remember a publican trying to sell me on a guiness premium or special or something - its special feature was that it was served chilled! bugger me i thought - heres a technology the poms can flog to us in oz....
in the us - mickeys wide mouth or canadian beer.
avoid any other us commercial beer.
microbreweries are your only other option.
europe is a whole different scenario - czech and german beers are top of the list. i recall fondly an austrian beer called 'stegl' which i kept going back for more.
in oz im quite fond of the belgian beer places they have. although 20 bucks for a beer makes it an exy nite out with the lads.
at home i like the james squires, coopers or reschs pilsener on a really really hot afternoon. vb is ok at the footy or cricket.
around the baltic beer is big but so is cider, and oddly pear cider. i bought 3 litre bottles of the stuff for 3 or 4 bucks. who needs a meal when you have 3 litres of cider.
oh yeah, riga has the hottest babes in... the world!

Ay carumba zboy, you like the hard stuff. I like to drink a lot, and drink it quick, so I love the suds.
I do like Mickey's Bigmouth, it goes down fast. Back in my neophyte liverkilling days, it had a good reputation, but since I've gotten into the microbrews, even the Mick is kind of mild, though it still demands respect.

This time I tried a pint bottle of Newcastle brown ale. Much better. It still smells beery, but doesn't have the harsh/bitter taste, or at least not enough to be annoying since it still slightly tastes like beer. It has an interesting aftertaste when swishing my empty mouth around, which may have a touch of fruit.
It says on the bottle "drink cool". I didn't have it in the fridge, but in my bedroom, which is actually cool. The bottle felt cool to the touch. I hope it was at the proper temperature.
I hope this isn't the UK version of Foster's i.e. poser beer.
How do other varieties of ale such as pale or India compare? I may look into these also.

I bought three different imports. I will be trying one each day, and
will give a review of each one.
The first beer I tried this weekend is a Grolsch lager. When I
loosened the cap, it made a pop sound and a slight mist. This one
deffenitely has the one of the coolest bottles I've seen.
This does have the same beer taste, but it doesn't seem as prominent
as American beers*. It also seems to have an interesting aftertaste.
* It could be the case instead that I'm getting used to the "beer
taste, so it doesn't bother me as much as it used to.

My second beer is Young's Dirty Dick's* Ale.
I guess this one is similar to the Newcastle Brown Ale in that the beer taste is not as prominent, but was more present than the Newcastle.
* I hope the label wasn't written by one of those people that misuse apostrophes, and the name actually doesn't describe an ingridient.
