I consider thoroughly...
MADMAX2 bears a strong resemblance to the tale of "yojimbo" of the Japanese movie in 1961.
directed by AKIRA KUROSAWA.
They are the following scenes.
A vagabond arrives at the place of connection.
It sides with weak people.
Its one eye is lost and it is helped. Everybody is saved and is left.
This is just a hero!

Lone Wolf and Cub also has parallels.
Toshiro Mifune is an awesome actor and Kurosawa (RIP) was a visionary director.

The most well known Yojimbo re-make was done in '64 by the Italian director Sergio Leone. He called it "Per Un Pugno Di Dollari" and it starred an unknown at the time named Clint Eastwood. Here in the states it was titled "Fistfull of Dollars"
"I am the chosen one, The mighty hand of vengeance, sent down to strike the unroadworthy".. SIN CITY MFP 2173

Yojimbo has been used as a primise in many movies, especially Westerns.for instance'The Magnificent Seven'was based off the 7 Samurai's by Kurosawa.
Akira Kurosawa is one of my fav writers/directors.

One of my favorite movies, "Shane" draws on the same theme.
It's surprising when you get down to it, how much film is just re-telling of old stories in new ways.

Think of Lone Wolf as Max, "Cub" as Dog, and the cart as the BoB...problem solved. Eh, Eh 'ate?!
