Since all big cities have been attacked with nuclear weapons I doubt that would be a nice place to live with the lingering radioactivity. So no post apocalyptic Sydney

Just a point on that..

#1. Hiroshima & Nagasaki were both rebuilt in the same locations and have large populations of Happy Japanese peoples living there.

Radiation decays over time.

20 years or more later and the cities would be safe.

(Oh, you'd have a somewhat higher birth defect rate and higher cancer rate.. but you get just get worse downstream from a sloppy Chemical plant)

I was thinking that myself actually... But what's the point of staying in the wastelands if the cities are habitable? They could pick up and refurbish it, and start living as normal people again. This destroys the whole Road Warrior Wasteland feel...

Ah, the joys miller must have had writing a sequel...

Because its an sequel of Beyond Thunderdome, I think there could be some more "cities" like bartertown all around the wastelands (four or five); they know there are others cities and there is trading between them.

The film could take place in some kind of pre-war-time between two cities (or tribes)

My thoughts exactly... If the 4th installment shows max like he was in Thunderdome it's going to... well... s.u.c.k.

Don't get me wrong, thunderdome is a nice watch, and I liked it. But it is when you start talking Max and Thunderdome you start to loose me.

Sorry, because my english isn't so good my post might be missunderstood.

What i wanted to say with "sequel" was only that, that mm4 starts after the film Beyond Thunderdome (which is more some kind of film for the whole family, than a real mad max movie :-) ).

I'd like to see something pre MM. Perhaps what gets Max to join the MFP in the first place, as well as how Max and Jim Goose get introduced. It could also explain how the MFP was created. Was it formed before civilization and government started to break down, as a separate branch of law enforcement? Or perhaps a unification of many forces after those events?

What about a post-MM1 story, the MFP after Max absconds with the BoB?

It could be about other MFP officers, at war with another group of nomad bikers, and the further disintegration of society on the way to MM2/RW.

And best of all, it would have cars, not camels.

Man, I'm glad I found this place. Just to add to the mix, do we know if Johnny The Boy really died, or maybe, just maybe he managed to lop his foot off and escape?

Add to it that Jess may well have survived, too. Maybe that wasn't Miller's intent, but I don't think it was ever definitively stated that Jess actually died.

If I'm seeing things correctly on the screen, Jess lost a leg and an arm, in addition to the massive internal trauma, so maybe Jess and Goose meet up in physical rehab. There's all sorts of potential character drama in this scenario - they're Max's best and closest friends (can't get any closer than a wife) and he's run out on them.

What does that say about Max, and how would they react when he wanders in from the wilderness 30 years later?

And what about Johnny? We know Toecutter all but forced him to torch the Goose, so he wasn't 100% evil, just a stupid stoned kid who got in too deep. Could he, faced with surviving Max's wrath, seek absolution and change his ways?

In the opening monolog of Road Warrior Two Grave markers are seen side by side.

It could be argued that one is Jim Goose.. but I very much doubt it.

Wife & Son.

Opinion:

Max wouldn't leave the Hospital while Jessie was alive.

Revenge wouldn't be on his mind while she was still in the hospital.
