Miller says "no Mel".

Post by Steve Gizzi »

I think nightrider541 is on to something here. But. Mel won't do it for under $30,000,000 dollars. I believe Mel once said "the story line has gone as far as it is going to go".."I do Mad Max one more time and they will call me "Fat Max".."They ask me to do it again and I want to be killed off in the first 30 minutes" His words not mine.

I believe the story line can be continued but it must contain superior writing and characters, and astonishing special effects. No matter what is done you get into the danger zone of "Rocky" 3, 4, 5 , 6 and on and on.

I would let it go as far as Max.

A legend needs to remain a legend in order to be a legend.

And with that I hope they make the movie and mel is in it!!! Lets see what they can do!!

No way is Mel to old, no way.. Yea he needs 6 months in the gym, like many action actors do before a role but to old.. bullsh*t..

Gosh "Rocky" Stallone is almost 60....

Not interested... that is the REAL problem, and that is what Miller did get right, Mel Gibson is just not interested at all.

I remember posting this a few years ago..

Mel Gibson take the pathway to film immortality.

as MAD MAX again reach into the minds and souls of millions as the last ever hero in the last ever V8.

You are offered eternal youth in a paradise lost world land. Make the film forever embellished with victory over evil.

As Mad Max you will have life eternal under the warm desert skies of a faraway land.

Have the very last sunset rays of your youth captured and immortalized in movie celluloid.

Take the chance to drive.. Shattering the desert silence in a roaring iron outlaw V8.

Live the silent desert moments of tranquil solitude... the cool dawn light leading to a noon day sun bright enough to warm the lonely anonymous hearts of a million winter bound New Yorkers. Ignite memories movie viewers the world over will recall in those moments when all are teaming in streams of refelected light toward demoralizing daily rituals.

Mel Gibson as Mad Max ... "Fury Road"

As it was in the begining ... so it shall be in the end.

Cheers

It's hard to imagine someone else playing the MAD MAX role. I's very disapointing to hear otherwise. What about CGI didn't they use that to make arnold shwarzenegger character in termanator 3 look a bit younger?

Time will tell... I say no Mel, no max until proven other wise. I will be there opening night I'm sure regardless.

The last two films in turn dealt with a society in progression, recovering from disaster and rebuilding. It seems logical to me that Millers next film in the sequence, assuming we get it, will somehow portray a return to order for society.

I think within that there is place in there for an older Max, a character that might appeal to Gibson right now, more of a patriarch, but still a loner at heart.

I cant see there being another Road Warrior on the cards, much as Id like it. Millers certainly enthralled with the idea of another film, but I cant see it being anything but a extension of the last one. I know thats not what most of us want to hear, but it just seems logical.

I'd like to see most of all either a prequel to MM1 with a younger actor playing an M. Rockatanski that's just entering the MFP, or something taking place between MM1 and MM2.

The first two movies were what they were precisely because they had Australian musclecars, nomad bikers, sawd-off shotguns, leather, and the best damn stunts to ever be seen in a film. They didn't have that fake ass pussy CGI crap back then; those stunts were the real thing. When Goose was going a buck-ten through the twisties on his Kwaka, a stuntman really was doing this! When Toecutter smashed that Impala with an axe while riding at freeway speeds, someone really did smash an Impala with an axe while riding at freeway speeds! Bring that back, dammit! Faking these things can never do them justice.

And that is why i havnt been to the cinemas since 1999. This CGI crap is good for kiddies, you cant use it on a mad max film it would look silly. I like traditional old school methods used to making movies its better than CGI.

I'll Agree to a Point on the CGI thing.

It definitely does have it's place in even Non Sci-Fi movies..

Look at Cast Away, for example.. the

The Best Effects are those you can't tell are effects.

There's CGI in that film you'll never spot in a million years unless someone tells you about it.)

But for a Car stunt..

I don't think it should be necessary.

There are exceptions.

Using Gone in 60 Seconds as an example..

The Bridge jump and the CGI Bus looked like CRAP..

But the scene with the loose High-Pressure air tank whizzing around, Ithought was cool.

That one could not have been done without CGI.
