I doubt the 3 defending the rig were in on it.

Just got thinking about his comment were the 3 defenders aware or not that the tanker was full of sand?

I would say yes, they were just doing their duty for the founding members of the Northern Tribe and trying to give them a fighting chance of beating the Vermin. Also how could they stay in settlement and not notice the tanker being filled with sand.

The compound was a big place.. It would have been easy to keep a couple of them distracted long enough to fill it...assuming it was actually full. There was really no good reason to fill it with anything except for the visual imact at the end. A lighter rig would have been faster.

It would have taken MONTHS to fill that thing with sand without earth moving equipment.

The sand in the tanker, it always seemd to me, was a movie prop rather than somehting that Pappagallo et al would have done for real.

Then it sounds like they would have had more important things to do. There was no logic to using sand, other than being a movie prop.

So they added the scene with Max catching the sand in his hand after the fact.. Interesting.

Well, there were quite signifigant differences between the Script and what appears on film.

So the Defenders using Sand to weigh down the tanker to make it handle and move like it had a full load of Fuel isn't logical?

Don't think the Marauders would notice the tanker being empty?

They would have. Many tons of difference in the weight would be VERY noticable even to Crazed Marauders.

At the very least it would delay the time it took them to realize it was a decoy.

It was a Logical and quite necessary part of the Plan.

Brian sez:

Max was never his partner.

Gyro: "We're partners, paaarrrtners!", "relax parrtnerrrr", "you're making a serious mistake, splitting a great team"

Max didn't think of Gyro as his partner, Gyro certainly thought of Max as his, after Max outwitted him. He had a genuine appreciation for Max, for sure. Why did he go and pick him up after the interceptor wreck?

Thinking about it, I reckon Papagallo had already thought of shifting the guzzoline out of the tanker and into barrels to hide it. Everyone knew that the Verm knew the fuel was in the tanker. Papagallo, and the others, all knew there was no chance of...

*has a flashback*

"That is more than just a tanker of gas, that is our lifeline to a place beyond that vermin on machines.."

.............Oh, arse. Ignore me,I'm wrong!
