Aoshima 1/24 RW Interceptor

Post by Strontium Dog »

My Aoshima 1/24 RW Interceptor arrived this morning Image

Only took 9 days to arrive from Hong Kong, which is pretty good. My own record for recieving stuff from there is 5 days, but can't complain at 9. Image Well packaged too.

The first thing I noticed, it's the Road Warrior version, I did'nt read the ad closley, I thought it was the MM1 version. Image No biggie, I'll just build a dirtied up RW version, I'll have to build a pristine one some other time.

The kit itself is pretty good, as poly kits go. I'm a little disappointed with the lack of engine though, I love building little V8s, all my models have them Image. Other than that, it's a good kit, with some great details. You even get a can of Dinki-Di, with label, to put in there Image

All in all, I'm well happy with it Image, I've never done a deliberitly dirtied up model before, I'm looking forward to giving it a go.

One think to say, make sure you take your time with it! And make sure the top part of the dashboard is complete, as Adrian will tell you!

The top of the dash was not complete Image The moulding was short. Fixed with a piece of plastic and some Plasto.

Anyway, it's all done now Image Lets see if I can get some pics to work.

This shows I bothered to paint Black on Black

Image

Interior shot, note incorrect placement of fuel gauge and warning light, light bracket at wrong angle etc. (note to self, stop modelling whilst drunk!)

Image

Rear shot, notice something missing? The spare wheel is there now, I forgot for the pics Image

Image

Side shot, left the insignia off, for reasons I don't know

Image

Arty front shot, like the opening sequence (sort of, ish), saw the creased decal too late, and the mess on the right don't show up untill you take a pic Image

Image

This was my first attempt at a messy, aged model. It aint great, but not too bad Image

I used my camera linked to the pc via usb to take mine. Battery was dying and I'm too mean to keep buying them Image
