Man thats bullsh*t over 50k died in Nam not 500k thats f**king WW2 casualty figures man.and freely admiting you were choked up at the sight of a wall with name after name after name of dead soldiers??i don't care how bad ass you think you are that would choke up ANYONE!!the Vietnam war ended in 73 at least the American conflict over there and we offically pulled all of our people in 75 hence the fall of Saigon of which is now'Ho Chi Min City'

Yea, WW2 movies show a much more important war. Think Band of Brothers was pretty good

OK. So maybe there were 500K total soldier's over there. The wall itself has 58,245 names on it...I just looked it up. I'll keep looking for the other info.

But still, did you think that FMJ was a good/ above average vietnam movie? Vietnam vets I had talked to back in 1987 said that they preferred FMJ over Platoon because of the raw and potent realism behind it (FMJ). Even on the news in 1987 (the time FMJ came out), alot of Vietnam vets preferred FMJ and hailed it as the most realistic Vietnam war film ever made. Quite a number of critics agreed. The only reason why it never got any Academy Award nominations was because it wasn't entirely made by Hollywood and Stanley Kubrick was a controversial director (although he recieved a Lifetime Achievement Award).
