Mad Max 4 and Thunderdome

Post by Mad Goose »

Who thinks Mad Max 4: Fury Road is going to be as bad as Thunderdome?

I think without Gibson, it has a chance, not that I don't like Gibson, but he's getting too old to play Mad Max. Also the futuristic setting of Mad Max 3 was ruined by having two stars on there, I say bring back the old idea of unknown actors. That's what made MM so realistic to me.
Eh Max, let's have a see-looks

Thunderdome is a big hard pill to swollow but that's the way it is. Gibson changed his mind about MM 4 and coughed up whining excuses about it. It ain't gonna happen. Fury Road is dead- Gibsin flipped us fans the 'bird'. We could get a huge global petition together demanding a Fury Road and a MM / RW feel and mood to the story- and Gibson would STILL flip us the 'bird'. Maybe try rallying Miller or something to talk to Mel. But, never the less, Thunderdome IS Max's final adventure and Gibson wants us to deal with it. I know it pisses us all off but there is nothing we can do about it accept to just shut up and like it.

Well, look at Lethal Weapon 4. It was worse than Lethal Weapon 3. Suppose MM 4 follows a similar trend? Then what? Will we all cry fowl yet again and demand a fifth?? I am recutting and remixing Thunderdome to make it more serious. I know it won't be better than RW, however, The Thunderdome "Remix" should be better than than the original. It will be called "MAD MAX: Beyond No Tomorrow".

Always had a bad feeling that MM 4. might suck, just cause i'm a very cynicla person when it comes to movies nowadays, especially Action movies, you always end up with big budget sh*t filled with one liners and VIN DIESEL as the main man in them, or pieces of sh*t like PIRATES OF CARRIBEAN, its kind of a funny time at the moment - SIN CITY is the best Action/SciFi movie i've seen since probably THE MATRIX back in 99', though TERMINATOR 3 was cool. , HORROR is finally cleaning itself up and getting respect back, but Action movies have a long way to go yet.

Mad Max 4 would have showed Hollywood once again how to make action flicks but Gibson flipped the 'bird' to that project. So, now we suffer.

i duno. the new action movies do suck. and most of the actors on screen at the time to. and a 4th mm movie would probably be ruined with computer made landscapes, and new generation "stunts" and new plastic made cars... maybe... just my opinion. and if they make a 4th movie, there probably would be a 5th one and so on... mad max vs a boy and his dog??? or something like that.

I think the script should be released by Miller in the case a movie *won't* be made, or Miller should turn his script for Fury Road into a novel.

Mel's gone, and that is all there is to it. I think a recast would be a bad idea, unless you use that one actor posted here that looks almost exactly like Mel...

I know what you mean man. But cut ME some slack. I'm a low budget part time casual director that must rely on computer made landscapes because I don't have that kind of money floating around to crash real cars and stuff. Plus alot of my crew members aren't taking my project seriously enough- they f**k off and play video games. But rgarding Hollywood and big budgets, I see what you mean.

Miller did talk about a Fury Road comic book that has artistically drawn storyboards for the film. The style of artistic craftmanship will compareable to the Heavy Metal comics. Do we all realize how good a comic series could be??? Do we all (us die hard Mad Max fans) realize the stories and plot lines we could submit to comic book distributors if such a series transpired??? Why doesn't anybody believe or listen to me???

As far as casting 'look-alikes'. Nine times out of ten, recasting sucks and the project sucks. It ain't that easy I'm afraid.
