DDA 1/24 Interceptor

Post by Gordon Hayes »

Hi All.

I am told that the Box /packaging that the model is retailed in has pictures of one of our replicas on it. Perhaps the Washington replica

I am interested to see that or those picture's, if nothing else..

I still have not seen the model or the box but I understand that the model retails for about 80:00 AUD in the Aussie shops.
Cheers

Hey Doug..

Yea..... We got ripped off for free..

And from what I have heard about the model quality all the buyers of this model get ripped off as well. It seems that making a CORRECT 1/18 scale model (or any scale model) of this black on black is harder than flying to Mars.

In the near future and for a very short time we are going to have a MAX one and a MAX 2 replica side by side.. So I wish a quality company like Bianti / Auto Art would get interested.

As I would think that this possibility - situation will not come around again.

Cheers

well i just got my diecast in the mail and have to agree that it's very overpriced.....but it's all we have for now.

2 of the pics on the back are Gordons first coupe and the pic of the interior is Marks S's as you can clearly see the carbs thru the windscreen. They f**ked up on the 'history' of the car also. Overall opinion........ worth about $20-$30. This one will definately end up in my kids toybox and I'll wait for something better to come out.

Gordon,

Let me know if you get a contact number or email address for these people so we can "insist" on a few diecasts in lieu of any legal action for using our photos.

Mark

P.S. Thank God I met barrester or two while I was down there last time.

Hi Mark..

I think that the BOX is the best bit... not sure if there is anything we can do about it.

The model is crap.. I just want a packaging BOX..

At least the BOX is cool... Not sure why they used pictures of the first replica.. it is a great car but by nature of it being the first go.. the most in-inaccurate of all we have done.

The Washington replica is the replica used for the rear shot on the box.

Mark if you contact these guys ask them why they did not do one (a replica) correctly

Cheers

I sure hope Ertl does look into making a Mad Max BoB all they need to do is get in touch with Mark, Jim Martino and sevral other people in North America for a reference or fly out to OZ and get with Gordy and Grant.and Ertl should damn well know that they would sell like hotcakes.

Gordon,

Tried to contact you through email but got it bounced back. Here's the message I sent you:

Gordon,

I called John from DDA. He said he'd send me a case of diecasts and

wanted to contact you to do the same and possibly setup something for a future

project. He's going to be doing a MM2 version and wanted a car to photograph

for movie correctness. He said he didn't have access to any cars when they first produced this one. He's also thinking about a 1:18th version. Do you want me to provide him your details? If so, I need your phone number. You site is down right now and I don't have access to it.
