New 2 Disc Mad Max 2 SE DVD

"Also today, a number of European DVD websites are reporting that Warner will release the following titles as 2-disc special editions in Germany (and elsewhere in Europe) on 4/8: Bullitt, The Getaway, Logan's Run, East of Eden, Rebel without a Cause, TheBig Red One, Batman, Batman Returns and Mad Max 2. That means, of course, that fans in other areas of the world (including the U.S.) can likely expect those titles as well in the months ahead".

Just curious about which features are on the second MM 2 DVD, since I never heard of any making of ...

There is a super short "Making Of" piece on the Japan release VHS SE.

I think.....

maybe they should hook up with the "Back to the Max" guys for some awesome doco footage?

My US Road Warrior SE VHS has a Making of Piece at the begining.

AUSTRALIAN sellthru released in early 2000, also had the CHASE CONTINUES doco, a little cut down, but still cool, this release also had previews to MM 2, and CHUNDERDOME on it, plus a review of the movie by LEONARD MALTON.

I wouldn't put to much faith in this SE. MAD MAX 2 DVD. - MORRIS. REGION 4 magazine promised the same thing 2 years ago, and its turned into FURY ROAD - nothing but rumours...

The opening chase sequence jumps straight into the action with the camera pulling out of the V8's supercharger. This scene was originally shot with Max driving past a farm that Wez and others were ransacking, the bodies of the owners hanging dead from a tree. Seeing Max they all ran to their vehicles and gave chase and there were several cars. The camera then panned out of the car's charger to signify a short passage of time and THEN the scene is as we know it with just Wez and two cars still still in pursuit due to the Interceptor's power.

That opening was filmed but not used.I have seen a better desciption of it somewhere , but can't remember where.Thats where Wez got his blonde friend from,the farm, he must have taken a shine to him and let him live.The gang gave chase when Max went past the farm, he put his nitro on and only wez's bike , the dune buggy and the car could keep up.then we go to where the version we know starts.
