Ahh, National Lampoon's Vacation...Beverly D'Angelo in the shower...the original story by John Hughes is set in the '50s, and is really great.

How about "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World"? Or "The Flim-Flam Man" with George C. Scott?

Just tossing 'em out there.

Not many people remember RUNNING ON EMPTY. Took me 2 years to find an ex video rental copy, crap actors with crap acting and stupid script but the only time your ever gonna c an XY with all four wheels off da ground, and that chevy is woth the wait in the end. Not a road movie either but still got the best car chase is BULLITT. MADMAX2 is king tho. "u wanna get outta hear---talk to me"

Midnite Spares known in Europe as Car Crash. Pretty similar fare to RoE.

Even has Max Cullen (blind guy in RoE) as wacky polish mechanic. Controversial film in the bizz as a Camera Asst was killed during filming of the speedway sequence.

I've only got it on an NTSC tape so can't copy it for you Mac Afee ....
