Scratch built Pursuit Special (Inter-ceptor )

Post by rockatansky4073 »

I'm currently turning one of those CAVALIER INTERCEPTOR models, into a PART 2. version. luckily i got the guy from PLANET X. (The makers of the coolest damn INTERCEPTOR's ever built) to send me some extra bits and pieces from those models. Some extra 44. tanks, and bits and pieces. Though i've had to carve out the intire back seat (which was hard as sh*t) and the boot (trunk) to fit the tanks, and front spoiler.

It's a strange kit though, compared to others i've built of the car. It's got no 'cop light' for the dash. I had to use a spare from 'X. and the windows are really lazy. It's just an entire plastic piece that goes all through the roof. I'm used to cutting them out and fitting them.

Though i had the same kind on a ROBOCOP TAURUS SHO. and it was cooler. gotta miliput up a kiddiy seat for the passenger door though.

I think the Cavalier version had the windows molded as one piece, and they vacuum-form them. I was supposed to get one of those kits, but my alleged 'mate' in Australia hasn't come through yet....in fact, he's bloody disappeared.

For the time being, I've gotten rolling once again on my Revell Torino-based replica; I've decided to make that one the RW version, and do up my Aoshima kit as the MM version. With the boot lid missing & no lower front dam, the Torino should be not as "torino-y" when it's done.Image

Has anyone bought the resin kit to convert the Aoshima kit to MM1 specs.

I have the Aoshima kit and the resin kit does not appear to have ALL that you'd need to return to MM1 ... no passenger seat, rear screen or rear seat ... but I guess it could be a 'transitional' representation of the car between MM1 and MM2.

That said the resin kit went on ebay for over $50 Aust ... almost as much as the original kit!

My question then is ... is it worth that kind of dough? Maybe we should approach the maker for a Forum price?

I also saw the resin trans-kit on Evilbay. The price was damn near what I paid for the kit, and I was also thinking about contacting the maker for a forum special price. I frequent 2 other model car forums, so I reckon I've got extra strings to pull if need be.Image

Very cool custom.

I started my own custom starting with a ford torino cobra, but never finished it.

The Aoshima came out and I bought a couple to try out.

I decided to add an engine bay and an engine to make it look more realistic.

I also updated the interior as well and tried some weathering effects on the model.

would like to post an image but do not have my own website

There is a resin conversion set up for bids on EvilBay once again. I will keep an eye on it as it progresses but I will not bid if it gets high. There is also a Pro built Aoshima with the resin parts added, very interesting but highly priced.

PS: My Road Warrior version is close to completion, as shown in the above photos, but still requires external body parts and weathering. I wouls also be very interested in buying those resin parts but not at the price it might reach on EvilBay.
