OK, the end of the world has started. For versions unknown, you wake up in your bed to silence, alone. All services (Police, Fire, Army. etc) are at breaking point. Society is break down about to plunge into chaos. You have seen gangs starting to loot shops nearby. They may start robbing houses next. This is happening everywhere.

Your car's tank is full of fuel and sitting on the drive in front of the garage and workshop. All communications are down except for radio.

But where are your family, may be they are at your folks? Maybe they need your help?

You could search for them. What would you take?

Or you could stay and protect your home.

What's would you do?

Well, maybe now that society has crumbled, the missus might let me drive her car. I've put lots of thought into this over the years and the first thing I'd do is go grab all the big pointy knives from the kitchen, take all the medical stuff we have and pile it into the car. I'd probably stick with the Fiesta, it's small enough to get through tight spaces, uses very little fuel (I managed to get it to do 80mph from oxford to bradford at an average of 50 mpg) and most importantly, it's a ford, so it's easy to fix.

I'd then break into the mechanical workshops at the uni and work on the car. Rivet steel plates over the bits and bobs that could get easily damaged, extra fuel tanks etc.

Then I'd head for my folks place. They live about 200 miles from here, but I know the surrounding area better than I do here. If I managed to get there, then I'd get all my remaining family and get to a secluded area A.S.A.P and live off the land (assuming it's not contaminated with fallout or something). I reckon we'd do really well, because I'm good with my hands and can make almost anything we'd need and my missus is a living history re-enactor, so she knows the best herbs and stuff to use when the medication runs out.

Quit it! You guys are freakin' me OUT!! Image

Seriously, I'd likely barricade myself into my work.

An Auto Salvage yard.

Tools, equipment & fuel.

Hopefully be able to bring in my car.

If not, the truck will do. (Probably a better idea than the car, anyway.)

I'd also try and find as many copies of the original Dune books possible and then when society/ religeon takes hold again, use them as religeous texts Image Bwahahahaha

I'm pretty sure I'd have a smoke (last luxury and all), and then hit the road. It's all about the road. Maybe scavenge or pillage. ;) Listen to the Ramones while on the white line nightmare. Family? What family?

BTW, hi forum. I've read you for a while. ;)

First thing is find my family and friends.

Second, put on my Mad Max jacket.

Third, if anybody tries to hurt my family, I go Mad Max on them.

Then search for fuel and listen to crows making sounds all around me.

If I see a musclebound man wearing a metal mask, then it's on!!!!!

Well, I will finish off renovating my van, and get a decent meaty engine for it. I'm already planning to fit a split-charging system, (runs two batteries, so I could run lights and all and not have to worry about the engine not starting) and several omnidirectional lamps for "Night ops". Mebbe I'll fit a roof rack for extra fuel cans as well.
