Anklecranker's Prediction.
4 will show Max settled into a new life...woman, child, home of some sort.
The scene of normalcy and a rebuilding of life will be eclipsed once more as lawless bands make this new paradise unliveable in many ways. Make no mistake, someone close to Max will die. Max is an avenger. This is the base of his 'mad' character.
The "Fury Road" reference will connect when Max must leave his home for a place beyond the vermon on machines. Each area he passes will bring new and harder villians until Max reaches a near end ..only to have a final battle/climax where he conquers the last Wasteland Lord to breathe life into a new civilzation.
The final scene will show Max standing over his conquered opponent as the symbol of good which has defeated evil. Then fade to black......

That sounds like material for a Strategy game, start with one man standing infront of a village in-flames with the roar of engines speeding away. Then you have a call to free the people from the law-maker, this starts as a personnal vendetta but soon you lead an crusade against the dictator.

heh Ankle - that plotline sounds a bit too much like just about any Nintendo shoot-em-up you could care to name.
My bet is this - Max is the leader of a new City. he is still mad , but now its a sort of pensioner-rage, a bit like they get at the ATM. Any offspring/companion will bear no relevance to earlier episodes. As he is the only surviver of an age where driving skills where paramount, he is once again called upon to protect himself/others against the pestilence (hopefully mounted on trusty scooters - the potential for CGI here is great. It could work, it should if done properly. Why call it Fury Road if there is no road action. This could only be possible with CGI in the deserts of Namibia. I am on to something here, mark my words.

Max will be a king a-la Aunty Entity.
Read Joseph Campbell... the hero of 1000 faces... "the hero of today will become the tyrant of tomorrow, otherwise he would sacrifice himself."
Does it sound clear?

it sounds sort of clear - although the only Man of 1000 Thousand Faces I know, his name is Mervyn Whipple.
Say Max is the Boss of some wasteland CBD. He could well be driven to the extreme limits of m-a-d due to ongoing issues with badland scum, and that may well 'drive' him over the edge - in his madness to avenge, he becomes worse than those he would be avenging against. This was referred to in the first episode. It also fits the new title in some ways. There just has to be driving action, and plenty of. Off-road is fine, even better if the stunts are for r-e-a-l.........
I am just glad that Kevin Costner's name has NEVER been associated with FR
