There were 4 Interceptors built for Fury Road.
The hero car and its duplicate, both were practically identical, interior and exterior, fully decked out.
The duplicate hero car was the one that got rolled.
Then when the car is sliding on the roof that's yet another Interceptor built specifically for that shot.
And the 4th Interceptor is in the scene where Max sees his Interceptor being worked on and jumps over it. That one was just a rolling shell, rusted out beyond repair.
All three Interceptors were destroyed except the hero car which we see in the opening of the film up until the crash. This Interceptor is still around and used for display purposes, but currently it's locked away in some storage in Sydney, best to my knowledge.
There were 2 Razor Colas built, both fully decked out and identical, almost.
One was Cameron Manewell's personal drag car originally and it's the one that got destroyed in the film.
The other one was provided by the production crew and turned into Razor Cola by Cameron as well. It's the one that survived filming.
You can tell the two apart by looking at their roofs. One of them used to have an aftermarket sunroof which was patched up. You can still make out the outline of the sunroof from a top view. It's also the car that is going to be auctioned off.
It's difficult to tell at this point if we're going to see The Wasteland.
I can see a few scenarios at play here:
1. George Miller decides to direct it himself.
2. George Miller decides to share the directorial duties with someone else and will co-direct.
3. George Miller won't be around anymore and WB take it upon themselves to take over and make it anyway (worst case scenario IMO).
4. George Miller won't be around anymore and the film will get stuck in development hell due to WB vs KMM conflict of interest. I'm sure Doug Mitchell will fight tooth and nail to protect this franchise.
What's certain is that we're going to see Tom Hardy it in, he's signed onto it right out of the gate long ago.

I'm curious to know why miller agree to do a comics books if the plot of "the Wasteland" is basically what we got in it ! Maybe he thought he'll never do a movie about it ?!

Oh my bad , thanks for the precision then , i was pretty sure we were gonna see Hope and Glory on "The Wasteland" storyline . It could be cool to see a confrontation between Max and Scrotus just like in the game then , and it would explain why Scrotus is not in Fury Road and why Max is chased in the beginning of the movie !

Miller on casting Anya Taylor-Joy.
https://www.indiewire.com/2021/09/georg ... 234661355/George Miller Eyed Anya Taylor-Joy for Furiosa After Watching ‘Last Night in Soho’ Early Cut
Taylor-Joy auditioned for Furiosa by reading the famous "I'm mad as hell" speech from "Network."
Anya Taylor-Joy is preparing to take on one of the most iconic action characters of all time in George Miller’s “Furiosa” prequel movie, and it turns out it’s somewhat thanks to Edgar Wright. In the latest edition of Empire magazine, Wright and Miller took part in a conversation in which the “Mad Max” director revealed that it was an early cut of Wright’s new movie, “Last Night in Soho,” that first put Taylor-Joy on his radar.
“I’d known about Anya but I’d never seen her in a film until I saw her in ‘Soho,'” Miller told Wright. “And I remember thinking, ‘Gee, she’s interesting.’ I started to say to you, ‘I’m looking for someone to cast as Furiosa,’ and I barely got the sentence out before you said, ‘Don’t go any further, she’s great, she’s gonna be huge. She’s fantastic to work with.’ You were so emphatic about it.”
Miller contacted Taylor-Joy to audition for the “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel virtually during the pandemic. The actress was assigned the famous “I’m mad as hell” speech from Sidney Lumet’s “Network.”
“I said to her, ‘I’d like you to do a very simple test, which is read something to camera,’” Miller said. “And it was the speech from ‘Network.’ The ‘I’m mad as hell’ speech. Apart from the brilliance of the writing, it’s a piece that can be done to camera. It doesn’t need an acting partner. Anya did one version, which was really good. Then I gave her just a couple of simple notes about intention and she just absolutely nailed [it]. I think it was done on an iPhone. I sent it to the studio. I explained why I thought she was right for the role. I said I was really happy to talk about it but it was so persuasive that we didn’t need to talk. The studio said, ‘Tick.’”
Production on “Furiosa” will take place in New South Wales in 2022. The movie is expected to be the biggest film production to ever take place in Australia. “Last Night in Soho,” meanwhile, is world premiering this month at the Venice Film Festival and will also screen at the Toronto International Film Festival. Focus Features is releasing the movie in U.S. theaters October 29.

Some Furiosa news…its release has been delayed until May 2024
https://www.indiewire.com/2021/09/furio ... 63734/amp/
Warner Bros. has pushed back the release date of “Furiosa,” George Miller’s prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road,” by a year. The film was originally slated to open in theaters on June 23, 2023 but will now be released over the Memorial Day holiday weekend on May 24, 2024.
The movie stars Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role first played by Charlize Theron in the 2015 film. She’s joined by Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, currently stirring up buzz by playing Young Morpheus in Warner Bros. “The Matrix Resurrections.” Production on “Furiosa” will take place in New South Wales in 2022. The movie is expected to be the biggest film production to ever take place in Australia, outdoing even the grandeur of the one-and-a-half-year shoot of “Fury Road” from 2012 through 2013.

Re: News on the Fury Road : "The Wasteland" & "Furiosa"
Just to add some context as to why this production is delayed:
Australia has been a hotspot for movie productions for the past year because of low covid numbers. Therefore Thor: Love and Thunder, Extraction 2 and Furiosa were all supposed to be filmed there with Chris Hemsworth right on the spot, but they managed to wrap up only on Thor: Love and Thunder before new covid cases started spiking this August. The production of Extraction 2 is sponsored by Netflix and they want that film done due to their contract obligations so they moved the production out of Australia to Prague, Czech to dodge the current lockdown in Australia.
Meanwhile the pre-production on Furiosa is happening behind the scenes regardless but it seems like they're wanting to ride out the current wave of Covid which is going to last a little while. The film seems to be pinned to NSW due to local gov funding and promises made to boost the local economy, also I highly doubt WB would be funding a trip to a different part of the world to film this huge spectacle like they did with Fury Road. "So we wait".

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-10-08/ ... /100518066Mad Max: Furiosa, starring Chris Hemsworth, is still coming to far-west NSW in 2022
ABC Broken Hill

The cast and crew of Mad Max: Furiosa are still booked to stay in far-west New South Wales for filming in April next year, despite news that the film's release date has been pushed back a year.
The ABC understands accommodation is booked in Broken Hill for April, running through to the first week of June 2022.
The Mad Max franchise carries huge cultural and historic significance for the region.
Mad Max 2 was filmed near Silverton 40 years ago.
Adrian Bennett, who runs the town's Mad Max 2 Museum, said the arrival of cast and crew for the latest instalment would be extremely exciting for the local community.
"They say it's going to be the biggest production Australia's ever seen and what better place to film it in than Broken Hill?
"We're over the moon."
Mr Bennett said the 1981 blockbuster helped redefine the area.
"It's just become a huge part of the history [of the region] … and it's become a huge part of people's lives all over the world," he said.
"For many, many years of course Broken Hill and Silverton were known for mining … but a lot of the visitors we get through now mention they come through here because they know at least one of the Mad Max movies was shot here.
"It's an incredible phenomenon."
The ABC contacted the production company for the new film, Kennedy Miller Mitchell, for comment.
Silverton Hotel owner Peter Price said the arrival of the cast and crew would bring great benefits for the area.
"They inject a lot of money into the economy. A lot of times they create a lot of work for locals," he said.
"We all benefit … Broken Hill, everybody, they all get accommodation and fuel, and supplies, and everything.
"It'll be amazing how much money comes this way on the back of Mad Max, so it's great to see."
The filming is set to coincide with the Mundi Mundi Bash near Silverton in April.
The outback music festival, which has been delayed because of COVID-19, is expected to attract thousands of revellers to the region in April next year.
It's one of a series of events, including the St Pat's races, and the Silverton Collective — a three-day event for Mad Max enthusiasts — due to start in March next year.
Organisers of the latter celebration are hoping Mad Max fans from Europe, the US and Japan will be able to make it.
"Broken Hill, and the region, is going to be a very busy place," Mr Price said.
