'71 Challenger Tribute American Interceptor
Re: '71 Challenger Tribute American Interceptor
Next year maybe, when the car is at least somewhat done. Have hardly started on it yet. The goal this year was just to get it there...

Re: '71 Challenger Tribute American Interceptor
The mods that were done that would prevent going back to stock (grill/headlights, fender flares, dashboard) were done mid 1980s before Challengers were even remotely collectable. Would never go back to the original 318/904 in any case. Could go back to the original flat hood and buy new fenders. Have one quarter panel and could probably find another or buy a new replacement. Would not want to have to pay for a new grill/headlight set up though. New wheels and rubber... Lots of $ to get back to a non-exceptional car. Probably be cheaper to buy a restored one. Have no plans to do any further permanent mods. Future mods will be non permanent.aussie muscle wrote:so i guess going back to stock is out of the question? Interesting.
It looks cool.
And I appreciate that you did it without hurting a Dodge Challenger too badly.

Neither the Combine nor Josh's GTO were there this year.MFP1 wrote:Bummer, that would have been cool to see. Maybe sandwiched between the Combine and Josh's GTO!
After a compete engine rebuild and new front suspension, I actually drove it to Wasteland this year (425 miles each way) two days after the engine went in. Had some problems on the return trip, but nothing that was not fixable.
Edit: Did not like the round driving lights so they have been removed.
Here are a few pics. Still a LOT of stuff to do for the interior.

How come the picks in the post above are not showing fully?

Re: '71 Challenger Tribute American Interceptor
it's looking the part as a tribute car. I quite like the square headlights as it's weird.

Forgot to post the pics of the four interceptors at WW2019.
Left to right in the first pic: James' Torino, Bill's XB, the AMX and my Challenger.
Decided that I did not like the center driving lights so they are now gone.
