I think the same would be the case in the UK. If I had the money I would build a Gigahorse but getting it down some of our roads would be interesting to say the least. It could be registered as an Agricultural vehicle I suppose!!!!!

You know on the Giga Horse thing, I am thinking at some point someone, somewhere, has to make it! I think the way to do it though would be fiberglass body since chopping up 2 1959 coupes would be more money than all the rest of the modifications combined! Still can't wait to see the first badass who takes that project on though.

Ok well then here is a link to the movie. It's titled Death Hearse On Satan's Titty Highway. It's not post apocalyptic but like I said, very inspired by George Millers "Get 'er done!" attitude. I always thought the picture of him holding that giant ass camera on the back of the motorcycle for the original movie spoke volumes. I mean, just going that fast in general is risky, worse with a passenger, ultimately the worst without a helmet holding what had to be 60 lbs of camera while balancing it the whole time.

To me, that was the picture of "What it takes".

It doesn't take film school, rich parents, knowing the right people or having connections. What it takes to make film is the "F**K you, this needs to be done and I'm doing it any way possible" attitude. Get your ass on the back of the bike, unprotected and get that awesome shot that only 1 out of 10,000 people will realize was a huge risk and hard to get because you made it look easy and it lasted for only a few seconds on screen. Awesome!

Anyway, here is a link to the trailer.

This hearse Devil should have some apostles and one of them could be used to do this:

One of the best car stunts performed with such a vehicle. 8-)
Not many can say that they are overtaken by there own rear end in mid air.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

Thank you for the kind words!

Nightwalker, that stunt is definitely one of my favorite car crash stunts of all time. A little backstory that I had heard from some friends who were on set for that one: apparently the stunt man driving took the pipe ramp much faster than the director wanted because he thought it wouldn't look at all impressive if the car just toppled on its roof. When it went through the air it nearly took out the Hemi on landing.

Also, the road wasn't closed for filming, they had crew on either side blocking traffic until the jump was completed. The friend I had on set showed me a home video where about 20 seconds after the hearse lands some freaking random cars drive by gawking at the carnage. It was pretty awesome.

Incredible stunt. The story behind it reminds me of a similar situation in the movie Severance where the stunt driver rolled a coach to make the stunt look more impressive than planned. I also believe the pickup the rolls in the background of the Death Proof final chase was a case of the stunt man (with his son on board) taking liberties.

I have the book "Phantasm: Exhumed" and in that book this stunt is also described. There was also a cop present who didn't allowed the hearse to go over the speed limit. But he did anyway. The cop didn't say anything about it.
