News on the Fury Road : "The Wasteland" & "Furiosa"
Re: News on the Fury Road sequel: "The Wasteland" !!!
At the end of the day a new Director would only be trying to do it the way George did it anyway and that's crap. Its George or no one for mine, he`s
obviously a generous artist who would be excited by what others could achieve with his foundation but that's also crap, harden up Dr Miller and hang
on to Max like Chuck grasped his Winchester.

We have a habit of overreacting to stuff like this, we've spat out dummies out over potential cgi, a more fantasy based world, no Mel, Max not being the main protag, wacky cars, the BoB not featuring enough - hell some of us lost our minds over how Fury Road would be colour graded. Even during pre-screenings there were huge doubts, yet the movie has gone down on here incredibly well.
If Miller chooses someone to direct sequels we have to respect that he'll leave the franchise in good hands in the hope fans like us will give them and the crew behind them the support they need. For me personally, Fury Road has been such a disconnect from his previous Mad Max films it doesn't matter anymore.

NO MILLER NO MAX!
No, but for real:
My biggest fear is that the new director waters down the material to a generic post-apocalyptic mayhem. Nobody wants that. The perfect solution would be to capture the spirit of Mad Max and find the right balance between realism and grotesque. It's a difficult feat (Miller's a natural at that), but that's all I'm asking for and if we get that with the new director then the franchise will be in safe hands.
Either way, you hold on there mr. Miller and throw as much Mad Max our way as possible!

There are a way better action directors out there than George anyway. Let's get the Justin Lin from the Fast and Furious...get some of that tie-in cash as Max sips a cold Corona while hitting the NOS in the BoB Corvette.
...or Michael Bay!!!! See some of those up close ass shots of women as the camera pans around Max when "Shit gets real!", coupled with literally half the Wasteland exploding in slow motion as Max donuts away in a Black Camaro!!
FUCK YEAH!

Re: News on the Fury Road sequel: "The Wasteland" !!!
My biggest fear with an other director is the idea all the stunts will be done as not believable CGI work. This is what makes Miller the master of Mad Max. I think this will be way out the league of the younger 'digital' directors who are used to do everything on computers.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

I can see only one director in this world who can pick up Millers mantle:
Mel Gibson
Mel Gibson

So true. Watching Apocalypto again and it's CLEAR Mel would make a great Mad Max director.

NO GEORGE OR MEL, NO MAX!
But seriously, Mel has been pretty much training his whole life to take the helm after George retires. And since he DESPERATELY needs that (directing) comeback, what better place to come back to than Max?
And there's absolutely zero reasons not to give him that opportunity, apart from the "Who rule Bartertown!?" grudge he has with the industry execs.
