UUMM Hello The Punisher!! Almost 100% copy of Max running toward his dead wife and kid, the scence where (soon to be Punisher) runs to his wife and kid after they got ran over! Hes even waring the same clothes except the blue button up shirt And has double barrel shot gun! Plus lots of other loose refrences. Also Terminator 2, Arnold is waring same leather clothes as max at the end of Mad Max, plus light blue t-shirt.

Hmm, never thought of that, I'll have to watch that again.

Weird science hands down.

The Metal Max games are under-rated MM tributes IMO.

I haven't played the original NEW and SNES versions yet, but the PS2 one is a nice middle tier RPG.

Duran Duran:

Funny you mention Duran Duran....when I heard the "we are War Boys" in Fury Road, I immediately thought of Duran Duran doing the same thing with "Wild Boys". I wonder if that was a conscious choice on George Miller's part....?

Just thought of another one....the female City Overwatch announcer in the game Half-Life 2 reminds me of the female MFP dispatcher voice a lot. Similar phrasing and pauses between sentences.

That is a very good find. I even think they used the MFP dispatcher voice as an inspiration for that.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

I thought the War Boys chanting while they were getting the War Rig ready for the run sounded a lot like a New Zealand Maori haka https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI851yJUQQw

Oh yeah, cool.

I did a quick search:
https://www.google.ca/search?q=%22Half- ... Mad+Max%22

It's mentioned on the Half-Life wiki and there's some other places people talk about it. The wiki also says the announcer is similar to other movies like 1984 and Fahrenheit 451.

Now that I think about it, that style of public address voice is common in dystopian movies, and probably described in books as well. Maybe that's where Miller got ideas to have his sound like that.
