Just to bump this thread a bit, after the BOB roll over at the beginning, when Max is crawling out of the window you can see one of the bars of the roll cage that was installed.

Yeh you can see the roll bar in a few magazine shots hidden behind that curtain / drape thing

The end of the visible rope, probably part of the Rig, is amazingly attracted to the scoop of the excavator, and brings the rest of the beetletruck half along with it. It gets pulled taut just before it pulls the half-beetle off.

I agree the rope is one of the safety lines that run along the top of the tanker , it was connected to the car body that gets torn off
