I would have hoped that someone who was a committed liberal wouldn't need to resort to Ad Hominem attacks - after all they aren't logical

cute.

apparently, that is more liberal than i am, not any where near what a shit head is, and it "doesn't mean their opinions have no value at all."

And was that from the original linked critique, or anything Mad Max related?

I could say the same thing about your post. In fact, I kinda did in my previous post.

Getting back to the topic, I am also a huge Highlander [first movie] fan, and as I recall the comics for the backstory of the character Kurgan [also a favorite] fell flat as well. Might just be a comic book thing... certainly it wasn't feminism-driven in that case.

That was probably due to similar issues as Furiosa #1. There are amazing comics out there, but where they tie into film it's often because they came first (eg. V for Vendetta, Akira, The Walking Dead) ... I'd suggest that experienced comic writers given a reasonable amount of freedom could make amazing Mad Max comics, but that TV/Film script writers perhaps shouldn't do it.
IDW or Dark Horse, if given the reigns, could probably knock it out of the park.

Heavy Metal magazine would be a nice home for a running Max serial... or it used to be.

I have not claimed that I saved anybody. Since you asked, I do know for a fact that I've saved the lives of numerous animals that needed rescuing. As for humans, I would like to think some of my activism and charitable behavior out there in the real world has made a difference, but I don't know how I'd quantify that.Mad Max RW wrote:
One thing I have never seen from internet SJW's when saying how much they save people is proving how they have done so in real world.
Oh, that's really big of you.
Now I'm going to offer a way out
You are right in that this isn't a political forum, and nobody has come here to debate social issues.Let's stop the political shit show
Agreed.agree Fury Road did something none of us predicted: it got lots of people talking about a wide range of topics long after release.
I was certain the movie would come out, be a fun action flick with explosions, and ultimately forgettable.
I had similar concerns. Prior to the film's release, I saw all this stuff about radiation mutants and cartoonish cars with machine guns mounted on them, and I feared the franchise was degenerating into self-parody. Mutants and machine guns are what you found in the numerous cheap Road Warrior copies, not in the genuine thing.
Amen to that!Instead we got a masterpiece

do you also oppose misandry?
No, because misandry is not a problem in our society. I've been a man my whole life, and I've not once been sexually assaulted or cheated out of a job opportunity because of misandry. It's been my observation that the only people who whine about misandry are Men's Rights Activists, AKA professional woman-haters.
foot. insert mouth.
there you have it. a feminist angle is an interpretation.
UH OH.
Did I ever claim my opinions about this film were anything other than subjective interpretations? Your big "gotchya" moment appears to be based on a position I never took. If George Miller offers public comment on whether he intended this film to have a feminist message and/or whether any of the specific ideas I cited are true, then we'll know for sure one way or the other. Absent a confirmation or denial from Miller, all any of us have to go on is our best educated guesses.
