Got my copy today , I don't have problem with it , one thing is it a different artist ? the style seem different

The art kind of sucked, actually. The illustrations of Furiosa herself were pretty badass, but in some panels, I looked at the way the wives were drawn and wondered if the artist had ever actually seen a human female body.

Also, there was almost no action and no cars, other than a brief glimpse of a stationary war rig.

A Mad Max comic should have some action in it, and ideally, some driving.

As for why Fury Road has sparked a lot of feminist dialogue> Imagine if almost every action movie you saw was like Highlander 2, or XMen Origins: Wolverine, or something like that. A flat, cookie-cutter pile of crap with actors just going through the motions of over-the-top explosions and shitty writing ... and then along came The Bourne Identity, or Raiders of the Lost Ark, or something of that calibre, where the lead appears to be a believable as a human being for the first time in maybe the last 20 years. Thats what Fury Road is like for women, or at least it was for me.

In that case I blame the viewer's own ignorance when we've had characters such as Ellen Ripley (Aliens) and Sarah Connor (Terminator) decades before Furiosa and scores of others since then (recently Emily Blunt from Edge of Tomorrow). People are latching onto a non-issue like Fury Road because it's the latest thing you are being told to do. Good movies with believable male and female characters have always existed. Stop hiding inside a bubble and find them. It's not hard.

Nope. I love Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor, but putting a lone strong woman in an action film does not make it a powerful feminist statement in this day and age. Countless franchises have imitated the success of Aliens and Terminator by putting strong women in action films. A strong woman by herself in an action film is not a powerful statement any more; it's a cliche.

It's not me who's moved the goalposts; it's society. Ripley and Sarah Connor were revolutionary in 1984 and 1985 because audiences were not accustomed to seeing women kick a little ass and assume leadership roles in action films. As I said, they spawned a ton of imitators, so merely putting a badass female leader in an action film is no longer a revolutionary feminist statement by itself.

And that is not what Fury Road did. Fury Road went way beyond that, and made numerous decisions that resonated with feminists on multiple levels.

Just as Ripley and Sarah Connor are still copied to this day, Furiosa will also be imitated by lesser writers and directors who might ape her style, but might also miss the deeper messages she and the Five Wives conveyed.

Fury Road is a masterpiece.

So why haven't you brought up Islamic extremism then? Immortan Joe took multiple wives. Women don't have ANY rights. Women have to be completely obedient to men. In Islam, if a woman is raped, there has to be male witnesses testify that they witnessed the crime or the woman is charged with adultery and often times executed. In some Muslim country's they cut off a woman's clitorus. Immortan Joe has War boys who are willing to die for him like suicide bombers.

Yet you want to link conservatives to Immortan Joe because they don't approve of abortion. That makes a lot of fucking sense.

Actually, I said it's because they don't approve of abortion and they are working hard to redefine rape because they don't want rape victims to be able to abort their rapists' babies.

Please don't leave out the ugly details that truly reveal how evil those people are.
