I'm pretty sure this is the location. Looks like quite a few of the trees have been cut down now though. But what's left looks correct, and if you turn around to look behind you, the You Yangs line up with the scene as well.

Apologies for dredging up and older thread, and my post is only partially related...
I was watching the original Mad Max the other night, and thought to myself during the Nightride chase scene "That intersection is quite familiar", I'd been photographing canola fields in Little River 2 weeks earlier and stood against the fenceline just out of frame of this particular shot...
It's a wonderful area to just drive around and explore.
