Hi there! First post on here.
Why oh why was the interceptor destroyed so early in the film?!!! I was expecting some scenes of Max living in the wasteland with the FORD FALCON!!!!
Grateful for any feed back.

Re: Big Question!!!! Spoiler!
It wasn't destroyed, just rolled.
Max jumps over it's roof in the Citadel while making a run for it, and the guy with the staples in his cheek is on it's bonnet spitting the go-fast juice into the intake during the final battle sequence.

Re: Big Question!!!! Spoiler!
I do not understand why Miller would do that as I remember many people complained about the absence of the car in Thunderdome. I mean it is prominently shown in the movie poster!
Re: Big Question!!!! Spoiler!
I think Miller is having a laugh at the fans. LIke Max being stuck in front of the car for the first third of the film, he is doing it on purpose to piss the fans off. I love his humor.

Re: Big Question!!!! Spoiler!
I bet it'll crop up again in the next movie - the car that wouldn't die!
Re: Big Question!!!! Spoiler!
Here's the thing. Miller is his own man. He's not going to change a story so that one very tiny bit of the movie going public can get their rocks off on a cool car.
Lots of fans think they know what they want. But that's usually more of the same. Miller wants to try new things and tell new stories.
Would I have liked to have seen Max be a bit more successful in the opening chase? Sure. But I understand what Miller was doing. He wanted to get the story moving, and wanted to get to the Citadel fast.

Is it really such a 'tiny group' that is obsessed with the Interceptor?boomerang wrote:Here's the thing. Miller is his own man. He's not going to change a story so that one very tiny bit of the movie going public can get their rocks off on a cool car.
