To be fair, as someone else mentioned, Max was half jumped by mister dead after that happened. Though if you remember all the trouble he went through to get back his vehicle after he entered the compound "My Vehicle, and all the juice I can carry." Max could have walked away with the rig if he really wanted to. He still had his dog, his shotgun, and his leathers. The only thing he went back for was the Interceptor and the juice. True he was not given a lot of diesel to take to the rig, but damn if he wasn't willing to die to get back what was his.

That's right, Lone wolf - he was totally demoralized and half broken after the Interceptor accident and all he had was the will to be 'useful' - which was why he just HAD to drive that tanker.
Fuck else was he gonna do?
He'd pretty much given up, so like Nux in Fury Road, i think he was like "If i'm gonna die i'll die on the Fury road" which in Part 2 was hauling a tanker of gas.

Wow you guys are right, i completely forgot about those stuff you mentioned. I just didn't see it through too, maybe because he was too subtle (for me) on showing his emotion towards the car and i thought he wants the car because all of his supplies and stuff are in the car. In Fury Road, it was in-your-face, he gets sad when the car is crushed, he kept yelling "that's my car" (those are funny).

I just wished he jumps from the Rig to the Interceptor to steal it back.

I'm wondering if the scenes with the interceptor were not longer. I'm feeling the whole first third of the film was recut to comply with the trailers Madness, hence that first act being totally MAD.

The Boss wrote:I'm just guessing, but hopefully we'll see it again in the sequel. Max in the Interceptor is just such an integral part of Mad Max iconography and lore, I cant believe they'd just drop it. It's like batman not having the bat mobile, Han without the falcon... It would kinda make sense that's why he leaves at the end of FR once the wives are safe, maybe he's setting off to retrieve "his" property, maybe he'll also find a dog along the way... :D

It IS a very integral part of MM! It is in the movie poster! Why would Miller destroy it so quickly?!!!!! :x :x :x :x

There should be a petition sent to Miller so he sees how many fans want to see the Interceptor.

The BoB Interceptor was really underused. The new audience wouldn't know how important the car was to Max other than it's his "car".

Could all this add up to Geroge Miller saying to new audiences "You want to know Max? Know the original 3 films." Almost as if he is encouraging people to go immerse yourself into this world to get the complete effect, even if this film stands alone. I don't think that I know of any other franchise that shows us a world on film that evolves like this series does and the world ages with each chapter. Not different from one another, but evolves and you see a logical transition. Like saying Beyond Thunderdome is here because of what takes place in Fury Road. Fury Road is here because of what took place in Road Warrior. Road Warrior is here because of what took place in Mad Max. Mad Max exists because of what he are doing right now in the real world, i.e this is not a fantasy world, this could be an alternate reality that could occur if we keep this up and feud over resources and greed.

IMO, Miller should have at least make the opening chase a lot longer, with Max using the Supercharger switch, hitting some od the War Boys, just make it longer for the BoB. In FR, we just see a glimpse of the front side for 1 second then we see it from far away where it gets flipped. There isn't enough attachment shown about how iconic the car is. Sure Miller may want the fans to know that this one will be different than the previous ones but imo at least he should have sshow the new audience what can the original BoB do (being badass).
