Re: Future World (2018) - Fury Road style post apocalyptic m

I watched this at the weekend. It's definitely worth checking out for Mad Max fans. It is nothing more than a very derivative and shameless ripoff of various post apocalyptic movies, and it cribs heavily from Mad Max, Automata and Cherry 2000 (underrated movie IMO) however it's worth it for some goo...

Re: Future World (2018) - Fury Road style post apocalyptic m

Sorry about the link, I was on my work computer and we can't access youtube.

I agree I think it looks good too, very derivative but it's nice to have a Mad Max ripoff with some money behind it at least. James Franco is directing too.

Future World (2018) - Fury Road style post apocalyptic movie

This looks VERY influenced by Mad Max Fury Road. Almost a rip off in terms of the visuals but I guess it's hard to do a dusty futuristic post apocalyptic movie without making it look exactly like Fury Road.

Re: Use of CGI in Mad Max: Fury Road????

There is CGI in almost every shot of Fury Road so I'm not sure it qualifies as a movie that uses minimal CGI.

Re: The History of Mad Max Video Games

That was a fantastic video Taipan, I really enjoyed watching it and I found it very informative. I watched your other 2 videos also as I had not seen them before and they were both excellent too. Great stuff, keep up the good work.

Re: The History of Mad Max Video Games

Thanks for this Taipan, this is all very fascinating. I'll watch the video later as I'm currently at work. I'd be very interested to know what elements of the game are taken from future Mad Max story ideas and concepts. I absolutely loved the game but it definitely feels like it took Miller's ideas ...

Re: The future of revamped Mad Max movies.

Is that the same JJ Abrams who campaigned heavily to use as many practical fx as possible in Force Awakens? I think JJ is actually quite sparing with CG in his movies.

Also Fury Road had CG in almost every shot with constant background replacement and environmental work and rig removal.

Re: Possibility of shooting two (proposed) sequels back-to-b

a sequel doing better at the box office is definitely not a foregone conclusion. I could see a sequel to Fury Road doing similar or even less than FR at the box office. This is a fairly niche franchise and these days with budgets being as huge as they are it's a massive gamble. The Mad Max universe ...

Re: Possibility of shooting two (proposed) sequels back-to-b

After the huge gamble of Fury Road barely paid of commercially there is no way on this planet WB would shoot back to back sequels, no way. They'd be crazy to do that as FR was no box office slam dunk. It did well but the huge budget really hurt the profit margin.
